She told News Of The Area, “While rehearsing a play at Maitland Repertory I was talking to a young woman who was going through difficulties in her personal life.”

“This young woman mentioned that butterflies gave her hope for a brighter future, while we were talking the poem

The Butterfly began forming in my mind, and I began writing it the second I got home.”

The writing bug had bitten Gwenda, and her collection of poems quickly grew.

Encouraged by friends, Gwenda decided to publish her poems.

At 73, Gwenda’s dream came true with the release of her first book ‘Poetry of Life’.

Gwenda told News Of The Area, “Every subject is real, it is life as I see it.”

The book is available for purchase at Raymond Terrace Newsagency.

You can also purchase ‘Poetry of Life’ on Amazon, Google and XLIBRIS, in either print form or electronic form for Kindle.

Gwenda has plans after Christmas to commence work on her second book, and has high aspirations and dreams that her book may one day be picked up by a large publishing company to help her to share her work further afield.
