Police have charged a fourth person in relation to the murder of a man near Newcastle earlier this year.
Detectives from Strike Force Harrogate have been investigating the murder of a 52-year-old man whose body was found on Thomas Armstrong Oval (Wickham Park) in March 2014.
Yesterday (Wednesday 8 October), detectives successful applied for the extradition of a 46-year-old man at Brisbane Magistrates’ Court. The man had earlier been arrested by Queensland Police on traffic matters.
Today (Thursday 9 October), he was taken to Newcastle Police Station and charged with aggravated robbery and concealing a serious offence. He has been refused bail and will appear at Newcastle Local Court tomorrow (Friday 10 October).
Detectives have previously charged three other people in relation the man’s death.
A 53-year-old man and a male, who was aged 17 at the time of the alleged offence, were charged with murder in April this year. A 52-year-old man was charged with concealing a serious offence.
