Thursday 25 May at 11:30am, six hundred riders will set off from the spectacular shores of Nelson Bay at D’Albora Marinas to complete the short, yet challenging Stage One (of four stages) of the Port to Port mountain bike stage race.

Being one of the most prestigious stage races on the east coast, the Port to Port MTB attracts some of Australia’s best Elite riders including previous World and National Champions as well as riders from all over the world.

Now in its fourth year, Port to Port is designed for riders of all abilities to experience the ultimate mountain bike holiday.

After enjoying the local world class mountain bike trails, the experience continues as riders enjoy the sights and soak in the atmosphere which ensures the entire region benefits from this wonderful lycra army.

Stage One offers riders a fast paced sightseeing tour of Shoal Bay and Fingal Bay that will see elite riders battling for the lead, while others will be achieving their own personal goals.

Applying the same start/finish location allows riders, supporters and families the opportunity to go for a post-race swim and maybe even the opportunity to see a whale during the whale-watching season.

There are many ways you can get involved.

For the riders, the event has both four and two day ride options available.

If you would like to be a part of the Port to Port Volunteer Team, there are plenty of ways to help.

And of course, everyone is welcome, just head down to the start line to see what all the fuss is about and cheer the riders on.
