With 28 venues, this year’s festival includes two country music cruises.

Stretching across the entire Tomaree Peninsula, the festival will host Country Music Artists, Line Dancers and Bush Poets.

This is a massive response in support of Country Music with many of the 100 plus artists being from the Hunter Valley as well as artists from Tasmania and South Australia also performing.

“The Bluewater Country Festival is truly about bringing country to the coast,” Ryan Palmer, Festival Committee President  told Bay News Of The Area.

The festival management has introduced two Country Cruises as these proved highly successful in the early years of the Festival and accordingly have been reintroduced into the 2017 program.

Saturday 10 June will see a Bush Poets’ Morning Tea cruise on board Moonshadow IV embarking at D’Albora Marinas Nelson Bay at 10.00am and disembarking at 12.00noon.

The on-board Award-Winning Poets will be Murray Hartin and Bill Kearns who are recognised Australia wide.

Murray Hartin has been making audiences laugh, cry and visualise the spoken word with his unique style of Australian storytelling.

A lifetime lover of traditional poetry, Bill Kearns has a talent for writing comic verse and an ability to see the weird and warped in seemingly normal everyday situations.

“These cruises are a real point of difference compared to any other country music festival in Australia,” Ryan Palmer said.

Sunday June 11, there will be a Country Music Luncheon Cruise on the Spirit of Port Stephens embarking at D’Albora Marinas at 12.00noon and disembarking at 3.30pm after a luncheon at Salamander Shores.

This cruise will be hosted by well-known and award winning Tasmanian Country music artist Gina Timms who will provide country music entertainment throughout the cruise and the luncheon.

You never know what to expect with a performance from Gina Timms.

One minute she has you in fits of laughter and the next minute you’re crying with emotion because of her sensitive rendition of your favourite song.
