Team Redzook, Port Stephens locals, worked hard to place second, and only 24 points behind first place. They also won two of the stages: Engineering and Jawbreaker. The Tough Dog Tuff Truck Challenge (TTC) is a 4WD competition event, that’s about as hard as they come for events in this field. It is gruelling and enduring, and provides a real test for competing teams as they push themselves and their vehicles to the absolute limit. Teams compete in a series of events and in extreme terrains. Each team has two people, and their vehicle. They must complete 12 stages over three days, consisting of one static stage, 10 driving sections and a verification stage where compliance of vehicles and regulations are checked. The trucks must navigate boulders, rocks, mud, giant tyres, and deep holes and ruts to take out the honours and come home victorious. From humble beginnings with only 33 competitors, to the event restricted 75 team limit event that took place this year, the Tuff Truck Challenge has become one of the biggest and most widely attended events on the Australian 4WD event calendar. Driver Tim Scutt told News Of The Area, ‘We are proud to have come away with such a good result in such a tough competition.” “We want to thank all the people who helped us make this happen, our friends, family, followers and our great sponsors.” “The Zuk worked really well over the weekend, with our only issue being a bolt coming loose, with no prep work on the car before the event, it really is a testament to the strength and reliability of the car,” he said.
