This week, Monica Murray was recognised for her twenty five years of consecutive service at Medowie Community Preschool.

The staff at the preschool have an impressive long service history, with the staff collectively bringing 115 years of service to the centre between them.

Of note, director Michele Ireland this year celebrates 31 years at the centre, and fellow staff member Denise Dawe has chalked up 24 years of service.

Monica was presented with flowers and a beautiful piece of jewellery, at the centre’s impressive Mother’s Day celebration, in front of a record crowd of attendees.

The preschool invited all mothers, grandmothers, and significant maternal figures in the lives of their young charges to celebrate with an extravagant morning tea, speeches, presentations and lucky door prizes.

Kellie Reddon, a parent at Medowie Community Preschool, said the centre has built a strong reputation for quality education in Medowie.

“The educators are extremely passionate about every child developing to their own full potential during preschool days, and doing that not only through their extensive knowledge in early education but also by the love and care they give each child.

“The educators go above and beyond to give the children the best preschool experience while preparing them for primary school and they truly make those days ones they’ll never forget,” she said.

President of the Medowie Community Preschool Committee, Jacqui Hrast, told News Of The Area, “The preschool is an incredibly special place that has played a significant role in the lives of Medowie’s families for over thirty years.”

“The township of Medowie is very fortunate to have such an important community facility, where our children truly are being given the greatest opportunity for success.”

“These long serving educators are shaping the minds of the future leaders of our community, and they are doing so with passion and dedication,” she said.

Medowie Community Preschool is the town’s longest established preschool, providing early childhood education at a high quality level for 31 years.
