Mrs Wilson’s career has spanned 44 years in education, 8 of which have been at Wirreanda Public in Medowie.

She has been an integral and much-loved member of Wirreanda’s staff and school community.

Her passion for learning and for student wellbeing coupled with her dynamic style and energy made her a favourite amongst students and families alike.

Principal, Philippa Young, told News Of The Area, “We feel blessed to have had Sue in our community for the past 8 years; she has truly demonstrated what it means to know, value and care for every student.”

“Sue’s influence will continue for many years to come through the young students and teachers she has influenced and shaped during her career. We thank her for her dedication, passion and teaching service and wish her well in retirement.

Sue is looking forward to travelling and spending more time with her grandchildren.

Sue also shared a message with the school community, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students, staff, parents/carers of Wirreanda for your support and friendship over the last eight years.”

“I have seen students grow and flourish from kindergarten through to Year 6 and I have also had the privilege of getting to know so many families.

“My time at Wirreanda has been the most satisfying of my 44 year career in education and I feel so very grateful to have had the opportunity to work at such an outstanding school.”

“From the physical school environment to the innovative classrooms, the Easter Hat Parades, Book Week, sports events and more importantly the students and staff who make this school renowned for its excellence; thank you for the wonderful journey. Wirreanda – I will miss you!”

Due to the current restrictions, a proper send-off will have to wait until later in the year.
