This could come in handy when the 24-year-old competes at the Zone 5 Final of The Land Sydney Royal Showgirl Competition on Saturday.

The confident veterinary nurse, who is passionate about helping rural communities, said she is proud to be representing the Bulahdelah Show Society.

“I think it is important to have someone from the Bulahdelah community involved in the competition, it is a great thing to support and shows that girls can get out and do things,” she said.

“It is also a great opportunity to raise the profile of our community.”

Fifteen girls from across the region will travel to Singleton for the weekend competition, with two progressing to the state final at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in April.

The girls will be judged on their confidence, ambition and goals, rural knowledge and community involvement.

Bulahdelah Show Society President Gary Gooch said the prestigious competition is about finding a young female Ambassador for rural NSW and the agricultural show movement.

“It is not a beauty contest,” he said.

“It is about girls who will act as good ambassadors for their communities and for rural issues.”

The Land Sydney Royal Showgirl Competition is a State-wide program run by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW.
