River Sounds Festival at Bellingen Showground sets summer dates

Briz Vegas locals and hip hop favourites Butterfingers will play songs from their new album Bad News.

 

AFTER two postponements due to COVID, River Sounds Festival has dates set for summer.

The music festival will take place on January 14 and 15, 2022 at the Bellingen Showgrounds.

In a surprise move, the festival will allow vaccinated and unvaccinated persons to attend.

Festival Director Ben Lewis said, “We’re stoked to announce everyone can attend, vaccinated or not, and do so in an enjoyable way.

“You can sing, dance, hug your mates, and because the event is outdoors you don’t have to wear a mask!

“River Sounds will be a massive celebration of getting back to some kind of normality after two years of shite (sic) times for all,” he said.

To celebrate the festival there is a cracker of a competition on.

The Ultimate Festival Giveaway is not only for the winner but for three friends as well.

The prize includes four weekend passes to River Sounds, accommodation at the Federal Hotel Bellingen, Festival VIP hospitality package and a half-day canoe tour with Bellingen Canoe Adventures.

In festival and artist news, proud Menang Noongar man Dallas Woods has been selected as one of five Australian artists for YouTubeBlack Voices Music Class of 2022, a fifty-four strong membership of black artists, songwriters, and producers from around the globe.

And Baker Boy’s debut album ‘Gela’ is currently the feature album of the week on Triple J so turn up the sounds and the good vibes.

Baker Boy has graced the cover of NME, featured in Rolling Stones Australia, performed at the AFL Grand Final, dropped some epic singles including collaborations with G-Flip and Sampa the Great, and is about to embark on a national tour.

The stellar lineup includes Regurgitator, JK-47, Adrian Eagle, Jerome Farah, Resin Dogs, Cool Sounds, Pinch Points, The Regime, The Pinheads, The Terrys, Sunfruits, Nice Biscuit, The Stained Daisies and DJ Katch.

River Sounds is made possible by support from the Federal Government Office of the Arts, Bellingen Shire Council and Federal Hotel Bellingen.
