“Our club is very proud to continue to have great young adults finishing their Nipper experience and continue with patrolling our beautiful beach; all of this year’s U14 Nippers have already started patrol and are assisting out Age Managers on Sunday morning at Nippers,” said Gerard Klinkers, Nippers President.

The Junior Lifesaver of the Year Award is a way for Clubs and branches to recognise their U14 members’ achievements in Surf Life Saving; the contributions they have made to all levels of Surf Life Saving as well as within the community.

The program aims to focus on recognising and rewarding the young members who have been selected as Branch Finalists.

It focuses on self-leadership, socialisation, teamwork, surf lifesaving and self-awareness. Participants will be involved in physical challenges, presentations and discussions, activities and scenarios that require leadership, teamwork and communication.

Despite the Covid19 situation, Sawtell Nippers has been running safe and successful, thanks to our great Age Managers Team as well as an experienced Water safety and IRB Team.

Recently a few new local businesses have come on board to support Nippers, which assists the Club to provide a fun and safe environment for local lifesavers of the future!

Arla and Angus will progress to the SLSNSW development camp and interview process to determine the State winners.
