The Club now is a far cry from the one that the first members played at.
It now sports an undercover all weather green.
Once, it was whites only on the greens, much has changed in bowls and the ladies now sport fun colourful uniforms.
While the whites are gone the passion and commitment of the players hasn’t changed much.
Over the past 60 years the ladies believe that they have won around 13 pennants.
The club currently has 110 lady bowlers.
Among the ladies upcoming events are 5-9 August is the Blue Water Carnival which bowlers from far-and-wide attend.
Then on 11 August 12 ladies have been selected to play in a tournament called Waves to Wine which is played at Kurri Kurri Bowling Club.
Lyn Yeomans told News Of The Area, “This is followed by “The Grade 2 Pennant team, who won the Flag going off to the State Pennant Play Off at Kingscliff.”
A Bus has been organised by the Club to take spectators to see them play over the five days.
“Our girls, Cheryl Field and Pam Smith were runner up in the Open District Pairs after a very close game, and Julie Schumacher and Rosita Ryan won the District Pairs Seniors; making it congratulations all round,” she said.
The ladies are going from strength to strength and hope that they bring home more pennants.
