OCTOBER 23rd is St Michaels Fete 10 am – 3pm.

This Event is only run every 4 years and this year promises to be the Bays biggest yet.

St Michaels have had more than their fair share of troubles this year with their library and its contents being destroyed due to a hot water system exploding during the holidays.

It has taken 9 months to finally move forward and there is now renewed hope of obtaining a new library which will soon be fully operational, full of new and interesting books.

Added to this, the school was broken into last term and the vandals destroyed school computers as well as other electrical equipment.

This year’s Fete will turn things around for the school and they are looking forward to having the communities backing.

“We have a great community and nothing holds us back when the extended community of the Bay area joins together with us in support,” Sheree Gibson, Fete organiser told News Of The Bay.

“The funds raised will go towards purchasing a portable stage for assemblies and plays as well as purchasing play equipment that is specifically designed for our senior students,” said Ms Gibson.

A huge draw card to the Fete is the first time appearance in the Bay of an activity called Stunt Jump.

Stunt Jump is the only ride in Australia to offer the feeling of free falling through the air like a real Hollywood stuntman before landing on a specially designed jump bag – just like the pros.

The jump bag has been refined and designed by trapeze artists to absorb all landings from heights well above the highest platform of 7m.

The smaller children can feel like a hero too, as they take a leap of faith from the smaller 4m platform.

Be prepared for a huge adrenalin rush on this ride.

Familiar stalls like the chocolate wheel, will have amazing prizes such as Accommodation in the Hunter Valley, Tablets from Telstra, Scooters, Vouchers to local businesses, wine, toys and so much more.

You can purchase a key at the Fete for $10, in the hope that your key will be the one that opens the Treasure Chest containing $1000 hard cold cash.

For all the cooks in the Bay, a Thermomix (worth $2089) will be raffled at a cost of $5 per ticket.

On the day will be face painting, a photo booth, chocolate toss, fake plaster casts, fake tattoos, lucky dips and balloons.

There will also be a variety of show bags for sale as well as a jumping castle, an obstacle course, cake stall, craft stall and of course the old favourite, Devonshire Tea will be served throughout the day.

There will be a coffee van, milkshakes, a sausage sizzle and yes, even bacon and egg rolls!

Throughout the day there will be dance and local businesses demonstrations in the hall as well as everybody’s favourite the Fire, Ambulance and Police vehicle displays.

This years Fete promises to lift the ceiling off all other Fetes in the Bay Area previously.

You don’t want to miss out on this one!!
