
THE Stockton Men’s Bowling Club opened it’s 2021 Bowling Program with the playing of the Dave Burnett Twilight Triples.
This event was run over 3 nights, on 6, 7, and 8 January.
The weather seemed likely to play a big part in the running of the Tournament but all games were able to be played.
Twenty eight teams nominated and played 15 ends of 3 Bowls Triples over the 3 nights.
The composite team of Ian Percival, (Charlestown BC), John Mackenzie (Cardiff BC) and Andrew Capararo (Water Board BC) who all compete using a “Bowlers Arm” and quite adeptly as the results proved.
They finished in 1st spot when they won all of their 3 games with a plus margin of 66 shots.
2nd place went to the Wallsend Side of E Lewis, L Kennedy and M.Lewis (3 wins + 45 shots).
3rd spot went to the Stockton combination of Col Firkin, John Price and Ric Clark (3 wins + 20 shots) and 4th place went to the Charlestown team of R.Steel, D.King and D.Hill (3 wins + 18 shots).
Bowls Organizer John Price officiated at the presentation of prize money and he, and all the members who assisted behind the scenes were applauded in what all players agreed was a very successful tournament.
