“They were people waiting to come in on day one,” Coordinator Christine Baker said.

The annual three day Art and Craft show takes months in the planning and days to set up, all the rooms of the Centre on Myall Street in Tea Gardens open to the public.

“We had a record 145 paintings this year and the quality was very high,” Coordinator Christine Baker said.

“There were also a lot more photographic entries.

“Everything was for sale and it was all hand crafted, or painted,” Christine said.

There was a huge array of craft items on show and for sale, from pottery, leather work, wood turning, hand spun and woven garments, hand sewn and knitted children’s clothing and soft toys and a wonderful selection of hand and machined quilts.”

But this was a very special Art Show for local Joan Wilcox, who was one of the five founding members of the group, 25 years.

To celebrate the milestone, Joan was given a very special hand crafted visitors book, signed by all those who walked through the door last weekend.

Christine said, “It was a surprise for Joan and she was absolutely thrilled.”
