“It’s hoped both of these projects will be installed over the coming months,” Gordon Grainger from the Reference Group told News Of The Area.

“The financing of these projects will be through the ‘Better Boating’ program,” he said.

Other priority projects include the planting of five more figs along the section of waterfront from Iluka Street to the Oyster Hut and the installation of several bike racks.

Maintenance programs which are currently being undertaken by MidCoast Council include the returfing of Anzac Park and the installation of new drainage.

Other projects needing to be addressed are repairs to the rock wall near the public wharf, the upgrading of the public toilet block and repair of the foreshore pathway from Hough Street to Coupland.

Tenders are also being sought by Maritime Services to remove rotting and fallen poles.

The Reference Group will also be asking MidCoast Council to bring forward the building of the Myall Street all-day car park and the building of a public toilet facility near the car park/bus shelter.
