Whilst most played Triples there were a few games of Fours.

It was a Fours team that took home the money.

They were; Lon Richards, John Atherton, Gary Wynne and Gary Melrose.

22 September: The Fabulous Friday Open Jackpot Pairs was well supported by a contingent of bowlers from Lake Cathie.

It was great to see a full complement of players on the green.

The usual format was abandoned in favour of the team winning with the largest margin.

Needless to say that there was only one winner today, that being the game of bowls itself.

It was good fun and great company with many new friends made.

23 September: The Lake Cathie men players were joined with the ladies from that Club to enjoy the local facilities.

Lake Cathie fielded 30 players who were matched with 30 from Tea Gardens.

Players filled both greens in a friendly game of Triples.

The day was an outstanding success and hopefully we can do it again next year.

24 September: Eighteen players braved the heat today to enjoy Sunday Mixed Bowls.

The winners were Anne Remment, Rhonda Hatfield and John Moore.

The Lucky Losers were Lyn Nightingale, Lon Richards and Denis Wilberforce.

The organisers wished to thank Barry Goode for doing the cooking duties.

In other news: There are still some vacancies for the Palm Lake sponsored Mixed Pairs to be held on the weekend of 14/15 October.

With great prizemoney on offer this is one not to be missed.

The Women’s Bowling Club is busily organising their big charity day, Oncology Day, scheduled for Friday 6 October.

This is always a wonderful day with money raised going to the Oncology Unit at the Calvary Mater Hospital, Newcastle.

Closing date for this is 28 September.
