Great Lakes Council has completed work to reconstruct a 350 metre length of Myall Street immediately to the west of Singing Bridge in Tea Gardens.

“Myall Street was previously very rough at this location with the road pavement failing in several spots,” said Mr Ron Hartley, Council’s Director of Engineering Services.

“The completed work greatly improves the road approach onto the Singing Bridge,” said Mr Hartley.

“The work involved excavation of the existing road and construction of a new road pavement,” said Council’s Operations Manager, Mr Robert Fish.

“Damaged sections of kerb and gutter and the footpath approaches onto the Singing Bridge were also replaced as part of the work and line marking will be installed on the completed work in the near future.”

Council thanks motorists and the community for their patience whilst this important work was undertaken.

“The work was completed under Council’s Urban Road Rehabilitation Program at a cost of $400,000,” said Mr Hartley.

“With completion of this work on Myall Street, reconstruction work will soon commence on the next stage of Marine Drive to the east of Maxwell Street,” said Mr Hartley.
