The program has been running weekly from the beginning of January featuring an extensive line up of talented musicians.

Todd Haywood, Lee J Collier, Hummingbirds Collective, Lo Monaco, Sisters From a Different Mister, James Naldo and Rod Coote are all set to play in Raymond Terrace Central up until the end of February 2021.

“Streaming services have made it near impossible for up and coming artists to make any money off their music, so being able to play at venues and live music spots like Terrace Sounds is a great opportunity for all artists to make some money back on what they have worked so hard on, whilst having the exposure of people passing by stopping for a listen,” local musician Lo Monaco said.

With COVID-19 hitting the entertainment industry, many musicians lost a large amount of gigs, their income and their jobs.

Programs to increase interest in the performing arts and live music events are incredibly important at this time and should be encouraged.

“With the current COVID situation, it’s fantastic that venues, councils and organisations are working with these restrictions to promote and support live music as well as the safety of their patrons so that there is a healthy balance.

“Live music has always been a fundamental part of society that brings us together to enjoy one another’s company.

“It’s even more important to support live music and each other, now, more than ever, as positive morale is lacking worldwide,” said Georgie Winchester, a local musician who was originally set to play Terrace Sounds.

Terrace Sounds will be running Friday-Sunday weekly from 11:00am-2:00pm at Terrace Central in their new outdoor area, with severe weather moving the musicians indoors if necessary.
