“There are some 20 individual activities we’ve organised for the day in and around Henderson Park,” she said.

“The big $1.3 million makeover of the waterfront makes it an even more attractive venue for this much anticipated community event,”she added.

Saturday 18 November is when it all happens and the action starts at 8.30am.

Included in the attractions are a display of animals from ‘Oakvale’ at Salt Ash; a sailpast and ‘Blessing of the Fleet’; Santa arriving by boat; the Murrook Dancers; the ‘Lemon Ukelypts’ (ukulele band); a Fire Circus Workshop; Diamond Dancers and much more.

Kahibah Brass will be on hand to add atmosphere to the day and FM personality and Elvis impresario Paddy Twohill will MC the day.

There will be numerous exhibitions, carnival rides, food stalls with face painting and tattoos.

In the lead up to the festival, there will be a Senior Citizens Centre open day, a bowls tournament and a quilt show at Club Lemon Tree.

Winners of the Port Stephens Literature Awards will be announced as well as the quilt prize winners.
