As major works commenced on the renovations to the Tomaree Community Hospital the local auxiliary announced a new initiative to boost their donations.

Tomra Collection Solutions Australia offer a three-month charity rotation at the recycling centres in the area.

Charities are allocated a rotation on the recycling machines with funds going direct the the chosen cause.

Until Sunday 24 February 2019, the Tomaree Community Hospital Auxiliary will have the opportunity to accept donations from all members of the public in the Return and Earn centre at the Nelson Bay Bowling Club.

Located in the rear car park of the club the centre is equipped to accept donations of all sizes.

So whether you have a handful or a truck load for recycling it will all go toward helping the Tomaree Hospital and ultimately the Port Stephens community.

Making your donation is easy, just press the ‘Donation’ button for Tomaree Hospital Auxiliary and your donation will be directed to the charity’s bank.

This new fundraising initiative will help the environment and encourage Port Stephens residents and visitors to get involved.

Publicity Officer for the Auxiliary, Ms Denise Sharp said, “This is a first time event for the charity the auxiliary is thrilled at the opportunity.”

Auxiliary Secretary, Ms Yvonne Barber told News Of The Area, “With the support of our community members the auxiliary hopes to be a regular participant in the recycling fundraising, helping raise much needed funds for the hospital.”

“All funds raised are used to support resources and supplies not funded otherwise funded, and to support the wellbeing of the patient,” Ms Barber said.

Keeping Australia clean and donating to your hospital is the ideal fundraiser.
