Unfortunately not everything that the Hospital needs to deliver the quality of service that the community expects is provided through Government funding.
To address this a group of local ladies come together and fundraise to make what can be the worst day of your or your loved ones life that little bit better.
Recently the Tomaree Hospital Ladies Auxiliary handed the hospital $25,000 to buy equipment, some of which many of us would presume to be provided through Government funding.
Norma Thurle Told News Of The Area, “One of the big ticket items that the fundraising has purchased was an arthroscope, others have included heart monitors for patient beds.”
This week the ladies are out and about at Woolworths Salamander Bay with a Mother’s Day raffle.
The prizes include a decadent stay at The Anchorage and some lovely gift hampers.
Over Easter there was a craft stall and these ladies work tirelessly to ensure the team at Tomaree Community Hospital have everything they need to meet their patients requirements.
Mavis Richardson and Norma Thurle were manning the stall.
The Ladies Auxiliary welcome new members who can assist them in their fundraising efforts.
The new work that can be seen outside the Hospital is part of the NSW State Governments’ $8 Million Dollar OneHealth facility which will deliver allied health services to the community, it is not an extension of the actual Hospital.
