“Together we can make Australia a safer place for our children, everyone has the right to be safe.”
Crimes against children have no place in modern Australia.

This year’s ‘Day For Daniel’ saw an estimated 1 million children complete child safety activities at their schools, and countless others attended walks for Daniel across the country – to finish the walk that Daniel never could.

Students from Wirreanda were invited to wear non-uniform red clothes, and participate in important learning and awareness activities.

Wirreanda Public School Principal, Philippa Young, told News Of The Area, “Our teachers have been conducting Child Safety activities to help in Keeping Kids Safe.”

“Things like identifying a safety network, being alert for body clues when something is unsafe; and personal safety.”
This year marks the 12th day for Daniel, and Denise and Bruce said the numbers this year were record breaking.

It is a day to honour the memory of Daniel Morcombe and to use the spotlight to raise awareness about child safety and protection.

It’s a good reminder for parents and community members to spend time with our children, educating them about their personal safety and empower them to RECOGNISE, REACT and REPORT in potentially dangerous situations.
