Woolgoolga Curryfest postponed until 2021 due to COVID-19

Thousands of locals and tourists won’t be converging in Woolgoolga this September, with organisers announcing the postponement of this year’s annual Curryfest event.

WOOLGOOLGA’S premier entertainment event of the year, Curryfest, has been postponed until 2021 due to COVID-19.

The event was due to be held on Saturday, 26 September, 2020.

Organisers of the popular event regretfully made the announcement on Thursday, 23 July.

“With the current outbreaks of Covid-19 and the uncertainty moving forward, along with the current public health orders as they stand as of this month, we are unable to move forward with the festival,” Curryfest event organisers said.

“With outdoor gatherings still at 20, it is physically impossible to host Curryfest when our crowds are in excess of 16,000.”

The highly anticipated event which attracts tourists from across the nation will now be held on 25 September, 2021.
