Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Bobs Farm near Port Stephens early this morning.
About 12.10am (Thursday 21 July 2016), emergency services were called to Nelson Bay Road, following reports of a crash.
Initial investigations suggest a silver Holden Commodore was travelling north on Nelson Bay Road when it left the roadway and crashed into a light pole.
The driver and only occupant, a man believed to be aged in his 30s, died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
No one else was injured during the incident.
A crime scene was established by officers from Port Stephens Local Area Command and investigations are continuing.
