Grief can often hit hard at Christmas time.
Maybe you’re thinking “Mum won’t be here with us this Christmas” or “This time last year I was happily married” or any one of a hundred things that we can grieve over.

Christmas, with its joy, music, presents, excitement and general happiness, can stir up a lot of emotions along with a sense of grief over what we’ve lost and the festive season makes it all the harder to deal with.
When everyone is talking about joy, peace and family, it can be extremely difficult to feel like it’s possible to grieve well.
On Sunday 18 December at 6.00 pm, Overflow Church Medowie on Waropara Road will be holding their first “Good Grief” service to help you move into the Christmas season in a more healthy, whole way.
There will simply be time to sit quietly, reflect and maybe engage in something spiritual, but only if you feel the desire to.
Pastor David Deal told News Of The Area, “We want to provide a safe, quiet space for you to grieve leading up to Christmas.”
“Our hope is that you’ll find the time encouraging and honouring and that you’ll experience some healing and hope as you enter in the Christmas season.”
Children are also welcome to attend the service, and there will be some light refreshments afterwards
