There was something for everyone at the annual Trash and Treasure Car Boot Sale held at the Baptist Church in Tea Gardens last Saturday.
Even Elvis made an appearance.
Kerry Anne ‘Kookaburra’ Johnston from Nerong has two passions, her dolls and the ‘King’.
“It took me six months to bead him (Elvis) and I bought his wig and his glasses from Gracelands in America,” Kerry Anne told News Of The Area.
Kerry Anne has more than 200 dolls and just loves restoring them.
She calls it her therapy, having been electrocuted in a work accident seven years ago.
Of course there were also plenty of bargains to be had at the car boot sale.
“I just sold a whole lot of books to a little girl for $2; she’s obviously a good reader and she was just thrilled with all these good books,” said Church volunteer Caroline Thornwaite.
Georgina Hoddell did a roaring trade in the plant section.
And there was free tea and coffee with a bite to eat on offer for the thirsty hoards.
Members of the Baptist Church all volunteered their time and effort with money raised going to their missions.
The Church is also holding its annual Christmas Carols get-together on Sunday 18 December.
It starts with a free barbecue at 5pm followed by the Carols at 6.30pm.
Everyone is welcome to sing-along and join in the Christmas festivities.
