SALAMANDER Bay Rotary Club is hosting a lunch at the Soldiers Point Bowling Club for International Women’s Day on 8 March.

The Lunch titled “Be Bold For Change” follows the agenda for this year’s International Women’s Day for 2017.
Guest speaker is Ms Kellie Mills, a passionate and dynamic speaker who suffered domestic and family violence.
Ms Mills is collecting “100 Alice Stories”, stories of escape and survival from women who have suffered domestic violence, in the hope of providing hope, support and bring healing to those who are currently living in relationships where there is domestic violence..
“We now have 53 stories on our website, more than halfway to our goal,” Kellie Mills told Bay News Of The Area .
The powerful stories have come from women of every level of education, of all different ages and levels of education and from a variety of demographics.
“I wanted to create a space where women could tell their stories,” Ms Mills said.
The tickets for the lunch cost $50 and funds raised will be donated to a variety of Rotary Community projects including Port Stephens Family and Neighbourhood Services and in support of PNG Family planning.
