POLICE are currently targeting illegal dumpers, particularly those who leave old cars in the national park around Oyster Cove.

Senior Constable Luke Rogers from Lemon Tree Passage police said that removing number plates from vehicles did not stop the owner being traced.
“If you dump an old car body you will be caught and the penalty is over $2000,” he said .
“Those responsible for littering the bushland are committing an offence and the penalty is $300.
Anybody knowing those responsible for dumping rubbish in the lake at the Koala Bay estate or in any other public place should contact us immediately,” he said.
On a positive note, police will be convening a public meeting to address community concerns.
“We need to get feedback from the residents so that we can work together to make Tilligerry a better place to live in,” he said.
News Of The Area will notify residents regarding updates about the public meeting.
