Birubi Point Surf Life Saving Club are inviting the general public to come along to their Clubhouse on Sunday 18 September, 3-5pm for an Open Day. 

On the day, you will hear all about how you can become a Patrolling Member, a Surf Life Saver or  a Junior Surf Life Saver (Nipper).

Nippers begins between the ages of 5-13 yrs, Cadets 13-17 yrs, Patrolling Members  Adults.

“We also have a lot of “Award” members who are non swimmers and are still a very valuable part of our team,” Sam Faragher, Youth Development Co-Ordinator,told Bay News Of the Area. 

“Although they are not involved in actual rescues, their role is vitally important too as they become our eyes and ears on the beach.” 

“These members help with the setting up of the beach as well as other activities and can also achieve their First Aid Certificate or Spinal Management Courses and ARTC (Advanced Resucitation Techniques Certificates),” said Sam Faragher. 

The minimum commitment expected to the Surf Club is the equivalent to a half day (Sat or Sun) once a month, making 7-8 patrols a season as well as a half-day on a public holiday

The day will be a Family Orientated Afternoon and a great way to find out how you and your family can become part of the local Birubi Point Surf Life Saving Club.
