Foster Care in the Nelson Bay area

DO you have a heart for children and families in need?

There are many Foster Care organisations in our local region who are currently seeking compassionate individuals, couples and families to become Foster Carers.

Foster Carers provide long and short-term care or weekend respite foster care for children and young people who are unable to live with their families.

The children who come into the Carers home may present both challenges and opportunities.

The challenge is caring for children who have experienced difficult circumstances in their life and may be insecure, frightened and sometimes angry.

If you choose to Foster, the opportunity you will have is to give love, understanding and patience to your Foster child as well as the reward you will receive back from them.

There are many Foster Care families living in the Bay Area.

You may not recognise them as “Foster Carers” as they appear as normal families units within your schools, sporting and social organisations and workplaces.

The Tomaree Peninsular is a beautiful place to bring up children in a safe, slow paced and friendly environment.

“I had a friend who used to work for Life Without Barriers a Foster Care Organisation, and she asked me what I would like to do now that my children had grown up?” Donna Olive, Foster Carer of Anna Bay, told Bay News Of The Area.

“I told her that I loved being a Mum and that it seemed to come natural to me. I told her that it was a shame that being a Mum wasn’t a real job.”

“It was then that she told me about Foster Care. As she spoke, I became more and more excited and wanted to know more.”

“The following year, I began fostering. That was 7 years ago and now 3 children later, I have never looked back.”

“I love making a home for the children that have been placed in my care and I receive so much more back from them in return,” Donna said.
