Newly re-elected President of the Chamber, Graham Lang, said, “We’re very happy to see so many people at our meeting to hear and voice their plans to keep businesses and tourism on the front foot.”

This year’s Myall River Festival is being held on Saturday 26 October.

Among the highlights already put in place, a big fireworks display on the Myall River, ‘Buy My Wardrobe’ will be back and due to popular demand, there’ll be camel rides this year.

“That’s just the tip of the iceberg of the things we have in the works for this year’s festival,” Graham Lang said.

“We had 77 stalls at last October’s Festivals and we hope to grow that number.”

Roz Meehan and Sandra Clark, both members of ‘The Pearls’ have put their hands up to organise the stalls.

Graham added, “We want to attract as many families to the event as possible and make it a great day out for all.”

“We’re very happy to announce as well, that the Sheargold Group has signed on as a major sponsor for the event for the next five years.”

“It’s a testament to last year’s festival which was run by volunteers from the community and the fact they are confident our Festival will continue to grow and become an iconic, must see event,” Graham added.
