Bulahdelah Bowling Club transformed

Bulahdelah Bowling Club was transformed into a magical ballroom for the Show Society’s formal Cocktail and Dinner Dance held last weekend.

The extravagant social event was a chance for Show Committee members and the community to enjoy a fun night out together away from the demands of organisation for the show.

With the cocktails flowing, guests enjoyed an evening of fine dining, mingling and laughter in the intricately decorated auditorium.

A fundraising auction was one of the many highlights of the evening creating a buzz of excitement with fierce bidding on items donated by local businesses.

The competitive, lively auction accompanied by screams and cheers provided great entertainment with the generous bids bringing in big bucks for the Show Society.

Rock band Shivoopumped out the best of the 80’s throughout the evening ensuring the dance floor was rocking well into the night.

The Show Ball was traditionally held in November, just prior to the annual show.

Bulahdelah Show Society President Garry Gooch said the committee decided to hold the Ball mid-year away from the busy lead up to the show.

“It is a good opportunity for the volunteers and people who work during the Show to come together and enjoy a relaxed social evening,” Mr Gooch said.

“The event helps to raise an awareness of the hard work put in by the members of the Show Society and recognises the many people who volunteer to make the Show a success.”

Mr Gooch said it has been 15 years since the Show Ball has been held and would like to see it continue.
