FORGET the lucky four leaf clovers and rabbit’s feet, it appears Bulahdelah Newsagency is the place to go for good luck.

Hot off the heels of the recent lottery win, lady luck has smiled on the small town once again with a local man scooping $1.3 million in the Saturday Lotto Superdraw on 18 February.

The winning Lotto entry was purchased at Bulahdelah Newsagency, just eight days after the $100,000 Jackpot Lottery win.

The newest millionaire, a Bulahdelah man who wishes to remain anonymous, told NSW Lotteries he was “bloody hungover” after celebrating with his family.

“It hasn’t sunk in yet and I don’t think it will for quite a while, I just can’t believe it,” he said.

“I play weekly and I have a Players Club card, but with this one I just walked in on Saturday and got this QuickPick randomly.”

The man plans to use his winnings to pay off the family home and buy each of his children a car.

Bulahdelah Newsagency owner Sue Chick said it was fantastic that another local had won.

“I feel awesome to think that a little shop like ours could come up with two winners in eight days, it’s very exciting,” she said.

“This is the biggest Lotto prize that I’ve sold the entry for, and I’m hoping to sell another.”

With two big wins in the space of a fortnight, many people have been purchasing tickets from the newsagency hoping to complete the hat trick, by becoming the third major winner in as many weeks.

But for those chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, you’d better rub the Buddha’s stomach for luck, turn your horseshoes upwards and dream big.

According to the NSW Department of Liquor and Gaming, the chances of winning Lotto are around one in eight million, and even greater for Oz Lotto, with one chance in 45 million.

Have fun, but always gamble responsibly.
