The protection of our property and our lives from the threat of fire in its many forms and also invaluable assistance to Police and Ambulance at various types of incidents.

The staff and patrons at Medowie’s Bull n Bush Hotel decided they wanted to give back to these fine men and women and to use the money they had raised from their weekly raffles to purchase something for our firies to say thank you for their service.

“The brigade is such a vital part of our community,” said Licensee Eileen Clark.

“We wanted to do something to give back to them and show our appreciation, especially since as volunteers they leave their families and give up their time for us.”

Staff and patrons raised over $2900 and with this money were able to purchase some lighting equipment and some work shirts.

With the money left over and a bit of clever artwork from Jolene Smith, wife of the brigade’s Senior Deputy Captain, they were also able to purchase some social t-shirts for the brigade members.

“We were thrilled to be able to do something personal for each of the men and women in the brigade and to purchase some lighting equipment to hopefully make their job a little easier in future incidents that may occur,” Ms Smith said.
