Last Friday, 98 members of the Probus Club of Hawks Nest and District rocked up to Mumms for a sumptuous lunch to celebrate the end of the Probus year and Christmas.

Once again, the setting was fabulous with perfect weather and a spectacular view of the Myall within our reach.

Everyone enjoyed a complimentary drink on arrival to set the mood after which time the club members were treated to beautifully presented main meals and desserts.

Social Coordinator, Neryl Grehan, generously drew many Lucky Door tickets for members who received presents ranging from shoe box shapes to packets of jelly shapes but the real surprise was unveiled for each lucky member to find the refund of their lunch on the inside of the present.

One lucky recipient, Sandra McCaskey told Myall Coast News that she would have been happy with the Port Wine Jelly packet to be used in her trifle and added, “I was thrilled to receive the $25.00 as I don’t usually win!”

This event is the last for 2014 with the club taking a break during December and January  then returning on the first Friday in February 2015.
