Coffs Coast tennis players a big hit at Junior tournament in Sawtell

Division 1 final Lachlan Rook (Sawtell) defeated Liam O’Neil (Forster) 6-3.

JUNIOR tennis players from the Coffs Coast were the biggest hitters at last month’s Junior Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) tournament held at Sawtell where over 70 of the best junior tennis players from Forster to Woolgoolga competed for ranking points.

Tournament Director and founder of the Baylis Tennis Academy, Eli Baylis was delighted with the tournament and the performance of the local players.

“We had a very rare beautiful and sunny day for our Junior UTR event in Coffs Harbour and Sawtell where great tennis was played by the region’s best juniors.

“The Baylis Tennis Academy entered 30 juniors, I am really delighted they took home five of the seven trophies today which is outstanding.

“A huge thank you to Allan Pade and Tony Polack for their tireless work in running today and the players and parents for your efforts and congratulations to our winners,” said Baylis.
