Our dog of the week comes from Dog Rescue Newcastle.

The beautiful Portia is a bubbly five year old Mastiff Cross female who is looking for her forever home.

Portia enjoys playing and running, but also shows you how well behaved she can be and loves praise and cuddles.

Portia currently lives in a boarding facility but would love a family to call her own,
Portia does like to chase cats and pocket pets, and will need six foot fencing.

If you think you could open your heart and home to Portia please call Jo on ph 0427 695 104 or to view the full profile go to www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au.

Malteaser the kitten is one of five orphans that came into care with KITTY rescue project at 11pm on Wednesday night.

Amanda from KITTY rescue told News Of The Area, “Their mother is a stray kitty, who has taken to leaving her kittens on the back doorstep of a couple on the Central Coast.”

“She did the same with her previous litter and we are trying to trap her to avoid the same happening again.”

“We did try and wait to see if their mumma would come back for them but she didn’t,” she said.

Malteaser and her siblings are approximately four weeks old, and will be available for adoption in another four weeks.

The KITTY rescue project is currently in desperate need of kitten food (wet and dry) along with ‘pee pads’, soft baby blankets and kitten toys to help with the care of these precious orphans.

If you would like to help with any of these supplies or to discuss adoption, please contact Amanda on 0409058664.
