The statewide blitz is offering a two-for-one holiday special on demerit points and will be targeting speeding, mobile phone use, helmet and seatbelt offences.
Police report 1,742 speed related infringements were issued and 42,223 roadside breath tests were conducted across the state during the first two days of the operation.
Breath testing can happen anywhere at anytime and police say no alcohol is the only safe limit when driving.
Even Santa Claus won’t escape a random test, so don’t put your own safety or innocent lives at risk by boozing and cruising.
Double demerits will be in force until Monday 1 January 2018.
