Whether it be for religious reasons or because of the opportunity to see family and friends, the Easter weekend is often a greatly anticipated period.

Over this long weekend, there is a plethora of Easter activities available to locals and visitors alike in Raymond Terrace and surrounding areas.

Terrace Central Plaza has Easter activities running all day on Saturday, 31 March.

From 11am-2pm children can meet the Easter Bunny, do some Easter craft and get their face painted.

At 11:30am, 12:30 and 1:30pm an Easter Egg Hunt is taking place.

Terrace Central will also be opening their new indoor jungle playground this weekend.

Bunnings at Heatherbrae have Easter workshops on both Saturday and Sunday.

The great MarkeeP Easter Egg Hunt is back and running until Monday, 2 April.

Kids have the chance to win a MarketPlace Gift Voucher by simply walking around the Centre noting down the number of MarkeeP Easter Eggs they find in each store window display.

Completed forms can be placed in the entry barrel located outside Wendy’s.

The winners will be announced at the VIP draw on Thursday, 5 April.

The Easter Bunny will visit MarketPlace from 10am-1pm on Saturday, 31 March with free mini Easter eggs and colouring in books for children.

For those looking for Easter Church services, Raymond Terrace and surrounds have a number of churches.

Churches can be contacted directly for more information on services times.

There are many restaurants and cafes offering Good Friday seafood on their menus, to dine in on Good Friday, or take away.

Picnics are also a popular option over the weekend, along the riverside or a favourite park, to enjoy a relaxing day while the weather is still warm.

And, if you want to get involved in a community Easter Egg hunt, then there is one on at the Raymond Terrace Rectory that starts at 10am (til 12 noon) – It’s free and hosted by R&R Property.

News Of The Area wishes all our readers a very happy Easter and hopes that you are celebrating this weekend with family and friends, and that the Easter Bunny is good to you.
