Nominations are open for the Great Lakes Arts Awards, which are run every second year.

The Awards have undergone a revamp from previous events including a name change and a reduction in the number of categories from seven to five.

Nominations are invited under five categories, namely: Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Literary Arts, and Youth (under 18).

The fifth category, Enlightened Support, is awarded to an individual, group or organisation that has made a significant contribution to any creative discipline either by endowment or by creative practice.

Nominations for the Awards close at 4.30pm on Friday 15 May.
