High speed Jet Skies at Port Stephens creating discomfort for some

Opinion

Dear News Of The Area,

IN response to the letter from David Fitzgerald 8/11, the Wales only occur twice a year but our resident Dolphins are hear all the time. These magnificent animals attract numerous tourist dollars to our port. They have acute hearing as is evident in their mode of communication.

We also have at colony of Sea Turtles to be considered . These high speed Jet Skies must wreak havoc on these marine animals and are quite likely to drive from our shores.

I have not mentioned the danger to other waterways users and the total disregard for waterway rules and regulations that these users appear to have.

If jet skies cannot be banned totally from Port Stephens then perhaps they they could be forced to operate west of Soldiers Point where they will not cause so much trouble,
