Holiday time brings employment opportunities on the Tomaree Peninsula

According to statistics recorded on the “Trading Economics” website, Australia’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose from 5.6 to 5.7 percent in November 2016.

It was the highest jobless rate since August as the economy added 39,100 jobs while the number of unemployed increased by 17,000.

Here on the Tomaree Peninsula during the holiday season, however, locals are flooded with job opportunities.

Numerous Facebook sites are being updated hourly with positions vacant that include Assistants in Nursing, casual food and beverage attendants, cleaners, kitchen hands, wait staff, junior sales assistants, hairdressers, mystery shoppers, security staff, baristas, house maids and pizza delivery drivers.

Business owners are in need of good and reliable workers due to the huge influx of visitors into the Bay.

“At present we have a position available as a Security Guard with our company, Australian and Concert and Entertainment Security,” Ryan Parke, Security Supervisor, told Bay News Of The Area.

“We currently employ one part-time, two casual staff and a full-time staff member,” Mr Parke said.

Port Stephens Council has several employment opportunities available ranging from Senior Community and Recreation Planning Officer through to a Customer Service Officer.
