Popular daytime presenter Paddy Twohill has been overwhelmingly elected by members as President of the area’s only community radio station, 100.9 PSFM.

Retiring President Mr George Anderson acknowledged Mr Twohill as an excellent choice to take on the role for the next 12 months.

“Over the past year our membership has grown substantially and we have introduced many new initiatives that are up there with any successful radio station,” Mr Anderson said.

Mr Anderson added that the station had never been in a better financial position during its 23 year history.

“We have been fortunate to have an experienced and highly skilled management team leading the way, and that has put the station in an excellent position for the future.”

“Our members recognised this and all management committee members were re-elected for a further 12 months.”

Joining the team is well-known local radio stalwart Mr Bob McKay who was elected Vice President.

Mr Twohill was previously Vice President of the station, and promises to maintain the momentum to both effectively grow the station whilst ensuring it stays financially healthy on all fronts.

“We have recently introduced a fresh new look for the station, with a modern new logo and slogan and signage, and we will soon be introducing our brand new member friendly website that will allow much more interaction with our community,” Mr Twohill said.

He also added that the stations programming requirements and direction will continue to be a priority for 2017 to ensure the station stays competitive and grows the local listening audience.

As a practicing accountant over many years, Mr Twohill brings to the station strong financial and management skills.

He is also a gifted local entertainer who gets on very well with all people, and this, Mr Twohill believes, puts him in good stead with the station’s volunteer staff of over forty local people.

“Our aim is to be the most listened to radio station in Port Stephens, and we are well on the way to achieving that goal,” Mr Twohill said.

  1. Hope to see him get a few of the presenters back on air who have gone missing like Caz, JT and Laura from Saturday afternoons. Is it true they were all kicked out for asking questions about the direction the station was taking?
