The Golf and Putt Putt day at David Grahams organised by John Townsend was a great success with 33 keen players enjoying the day.
“A sausage sizzle with drinks, coffee and homemade cakes was organised at the “19th hole”, followed by the hotly contested matches,” Ann Gibson, President and Publicity Officer of Probus Port Stephens told Bay News Of The Area.

“In the spirit of fair play and fun, at the end of the day the winner’s cards were drawn out of the hat,” Ms Gibson said.
Another successful event planed saw Nelson Bay Croquet Club host 19 Probus members for a social croquet morning.
The strategic game was a surprise to many who had not played before and has now become a regular activity.
Earlier in the month, the walking group headed off to Nobbys via the Stockton ferry for a most enjoyable “out of towner” trek, and more recently over 20 members were joined by four grandchildren for a local stroll from Bagnalls Beach.
This month also included over 100 members from all over the Hunter Probus district meeting for a Friendship Day at the Hunter Wetlands Centre.
It afforded members the opportunity to mingle with other clubs and listen to a couple of interesting speakers from the Centre.

A tasty morning tea and lunch followed and a very pleasant guided tour of the grounds topped off the day.
Probus Club of Port Stephens is a mixed gender group and welcomes visitors to their meetings on the second Thursday of the month at 9.30am at Nelson Bay Bowling Club.
