LOCAL Actor Seth Drury recently won a role in the Australian premier of the Musical Big Fish.
Now 26 years old, Drury first moved to the Port Stephens area when he was six and was always destined for big things, but no one would have thought that it would mean him landing the role of Karl the Giant in the international hit, Big Fish.
Although tall, the role required Seth to increase his height by 2.6 metres which meant he had to develop the ability to act whilst on stilts.
“Dream big is one of the main themes of this show and we have certainly done that in every way, from mermaids to witches and everything in between,” Seth Drury told Bay News Of The Area.
“It’s truly a magical experience bringing Karl the Giant to life on stage each night,” Seth added.
Seth is now based in Melbourne and has won numerous acclaims in the acting field including for his one-man cabarets touring Australia, “Bring Back the Baritone” and “Unmasking Prince Charming”.
RPG Productions presents the Australian Premiere of Big Fish at the Hayes Theatre Co from 18 April to 14 May 2017.
Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, “Big Fish”, centres on Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest and then some.

Director Tyran Parke, who hails from Newcastle said, “Since the moment we announced we were holding open auditions for this production, we were overwhelmed by the amount of talent presented and the enthusiasm for this special story.”
“It is a great family show full of magic,” Mr Parke said.
The cast of 14, includes Phillip Lowe, Katrina Retallick, Adam Rennie, Aaron Tsindos, Joel Granger, Brittanie Shipway, Alessandra Merlo, Kirby Burgess, Seth Drury, Brenden Lovett, Zoe Ioannou, Zachary Webster Sam Wood and Brendan Godwin.
Joining Tyran Parke will be Luke Byrne as Musical Director and Cameron Mitchell as Choreographer. .
