RAISING triplets and a young daughter can be a challenging job, but proud parents Katie and Phil Barry said they wouldn’t have it any other way.

Their three identical, adventurous, blue-eyed bundles, Jackson, Will and Kenny, recently celebrated their second birthday, just a week before big sister Gracie turned four.

“It is actually getting a lot easier just because the boys are now a bit more self-sufficient,” Katie said.

“They can feed themselves and are running around, and we don’t have to try and carry four children to the car at once anymore.”

The demanding daily routine at the Barry’s Karuah home starts as early as five o’clock each morning, with every task tripled throughout the day.

Katie said although it can be a little overwhelming, things generally run very smoothly.

“It’s the same routine every day, up at 5am, breakfast, bath, play and back to bed, and then it starts all over again in the afternoon,” she said.

“You do have your moments, but only a few, we are usually quite relaxed as are the kids.”

Katie said Gracie is “a very good helper” and is now going to preschool two days a week.

“The biggest challenge is managing time, having enough time for the kids, enough time for ourselves and enough for friends,” she said.

“I’m still working, so everything has to be organised, I never have time to sit down.”

Katie told News Of The Area husband Phil is a great support and their families help out while she is working.

Although juggling parenthood and work commitments can be a challenge, Katie said by making a few adjustments they can still enjoy socialising,

“We just have friends over here instead of going out,” she said.

The triplets’ second birthday was celebrated at home with a family picnic.
