But having thrown his hat in the ring, Len has put together what he describes as a formidable team.

“Gaining position “A” on the paper meant that we can claim the status of being the ‘A’ team,” Len said.”

“When you look at the credentials, experience and ability of our team, then the ‘A” Team is most appropriate.”

With his 25 years of Council experience, Len’s team includes Tea Gardens businesswoman Alacoque Welsh who also served 3 terms as a councillor, including a term as Deputy Mayor for the Tamworth City Council.

“It’s very important to support Len, if we are to have a voice on the new council,” Mrs Welsh told News Of The Area.

Also adding his support to Len is Ian “Elvis” Davis.

“Ian is a hot rod enthusiast, licensed coach builder and owner of RodBods at Nabiac,” Len said.

“He gained the nickname in his teens when he turned up at a hot rod meeting with the sideburns and hairdo and an uncanny resemblance to Elvis Presley.”

“The larrikins at the meet immediately nicknamed him “Elvis” and the name has stuck ever since.”

Also on the ticket, Bulahdelah’s Arthur Baker who runs Bakers Towing and Auto Centre.

“I am standing to help Len not only because I want to”, said Arthur, “Also because my wife said I must.”

“Do you think that people from Taree and Forster are going to consider Bulahdelah? Len has done more for this town than people realise and we need to stand with him.”

Even if he disagrees with us, he always listens and tries his best to get things done.”

The last members of the team are Cliff Hoare, a retired policeman from Harrington, Stephen Moy a well known businessman from Tuncurry and Ronald Craig, a teacher from Taree who grew up in Tea Gardens.
