Les and Hazel Wheeler, Generous locals donate to the needy

Les and Hazel Wheeler

YOU may recall reading a story which was printed in the 3 October 2019 edition in regards to two wonderful people from Karuah, Les and Hazel Wheeler, who loaded up their vehicle with donated non-perishable food items and headed North West to circulate the much needed goods to our struggling farmers.

Upon their return, Hazell told News Of The Area, “All of the donations were transported up North and were gratefully accepted by those people who are in great need of assistance.”

“All items that were not food have also been distributed by our cousin Patty who will distribute these bundles of clothing and blankets to families who have had to abandon their family homes and who are living under the stars.”

Les and Hazel are planning yet another trip to the outback and are calling for more donations, only non-perishable food this time, and are asking for all donations to be delivered to the Karuah Centre for sorting and storage until they are ready with a full load to deliver, hopefully before Christmas.
