Mr MacDonald said he was keen to see the projects underway for himself to appreciate the current and future needs of schools in Port Stephens.

“I asked for and received a briefing from Schools Infrastructure on maintenance processes and strategy for Hunter schools in December, and was pleased to follow up today with a visit to two schools that the briefing covered,” Mr MacDonald said.

“The NSW Government is committed to addressing the maintenance list at Hunter schools and it’s important for me to see this underway and pleasing to see the progress we are making.”

“My thanks goes to Hunter River High School Principal Deb Dibley and Irrawang High School Principal Paul Baxter for their passion, commitment, and innovative approaches to public education.”
