A community fundraising event, aptly named ‘Unite In Pink’ has been planned for 28 October at 10am.

Every day in Australia, around 50 women are told they have breast or gynaecological cancer, and twelve of those statistically succumb to the disease, according to the Pink Ribbon organisation that supports fundraising and research into women’s cancer.

With these statistics in mind, the ladies at Century 21 have joined forces with Medowie Woolworths and Thermomix consultant Amy Lochhead to put on a wonderfully pink celebration to raise much-needed funds to support research into cancer.

The Unite In Pink celebration will have a number of activities for a gold coin donation, with every single cent going to the charity total.

Bring your gold coins along with you and donate to participate in the sausage sizzle, pink donuts, fairy floss machine and face painting.

Medowie Woolworths will be on hand with their fresh fruit for kids program, and Imugi Fit Tae Kwon Do will be running demonstrations.

A raffle with amazing prizes is also being run, with a Thermomix as first prize, complete with demonstration and cooking experience by Amy Lochhead.

Second prize is a GHD platinum straightener and pink hair dryer.

Third prize is a giant block of Cadbury chocolate, weighing in at a whopping 10kg.

Tickets are available at the Little Pantry Co. and the Century 21 office.

Jane Blair told News Of The Area, “We are running this special event to do what we can for a very important cause.”

“We’d love to see as many people as possible come down and join us!”
